Please help!!!! Any ideas?
I cannot believe what I just did!!!! I placed the vac on the back of the sofa so Joanna could reach higher to get dust from the ceiling and walls, and you can guess what happened. I tipped the vac so the beater bar would not be bumping the couch, but I guess I was too late or did not get it back far enough. Oh, well. I must admit I am a little sad because we just bought this couch in July. Any ideas on how to patch this? Is there a certain thread or needle I should use? Thanks for your help. I will now take my disheartened self and go back to prepping the walls.
Let's see. . .for a positive thing. . .At least it is on the top and not a cushion where people would sit.

Your vaccuum cleaner was running?
Sorry, that's beside the point, I suppose. I regret to tell you that I know nothing about sewing. I can barely sew a button on a shirt!
Maybe you could cut a patch from underneath the couch and then glue it on the bare spot??? (if that sounds stupid, never mind--I'm just trying to think of a non-sewing idea)
If your couch is that new, it would be worth the money to contact a professional upholstery place. It probably can't be completely erased, but they could likely mend it to look much less obvious.
I'm with Carrie on the sewing thing. Sounds like Angie has a great idea. Until it can be fixed I'd put a pretty throw or blanket over the spot. At least then one is always handy when you decide to take a snooze on the couch and you are cold. Or you could just leave it as a reminder of the great lengths you go to so that your house is spotless.
I'm with everyone else here. Can't sew, so I'd call an upholsterer or put a throw over it!
Duct tape? You know my abilities with these kind of things! Also, why was it put up there for Joanna to reach? Just love to give you a hard time!
That's a great idea, Les! Duct tape! Put a piece on, then get markers and color the tape to the same pattern and colors of the couch! Les, you're brilliant!
Les and Carrie are not allowed near anything broken in my home!
Mrs. Castle, It seems you need my expertise. I suggest putting a handmade crocheted afghan over the hole. It would be the perfect enhancement to your crocheted doilies on your matching end tables. I was thinking about a burnt orange, brown, moss green color scheme afghan that perhaps was crocheted by an elderly person in the 70's. It would create an "heirloom" effect and give your living room that "Down home" feel. Oh, and it should just set off those Home Interior candles you have on either side of your "Footprints" plaque front and center in the living room. LOL
Hi Martha! I don't have any new ideas for your couch but I do have a piece of mail to send your way. We are now starting to receive mail at our house and we got some for you. I will forward it but I need your mailing address. Could you email it to me? dorcasbishop@yahoo.com.
Thanks! Good luck with the couch!
