The post that never happened.
Greetings from the AWOL blogger! Pregnancy and I do not have a sweet relationship especially since it tends to make me easily frustrated, worn out, crabby, easily frustrated, whiny, easily frustrated. . .get my point?! :-) When I accidentally uploaded all of these pics to Seth's blog page instead of mine, it has taken almost two months to redo this post. (That's the good old "easily frustrated" part coming out in me.) So in keeping with the tradition of posting events and little snippets of our lives, we need to head back to the beginning of March when we headed south again.
Our first stop was in Richmond where Troy had a singing engagement and somehow ended up not having his suit pants when it was time to dress - a rather distressing predicament that made me laugh. Well, that was until we had to run out a buy a new suit to the tune of $200 which wasn't so funny then! The boys were thrilled to stay at a motel! You cannot tell it by the above photo, but they really were. :-)

You cannot be in the capital city without visiting the building itself (at least in my humble opinion), and the trip involved a US History lesson. I always enjoy reading the many documents in these buildings, browsing the numerous statues, and soaking up the architecture.
We were even favored with sitting through part of a House session. I was so happy that the boys were able to experience this firsthand.
Some boys however weren't so interested in the voting processes of our land, nor were they thrilled with their mother taking continual snapshots of them. :-)
Upon finishing the tour we again loaded up and headed toward Easley, SC. We were a bit sentimental to reconnect with "old" friends not knowing when we would be back in this direction.

SC always includes a stop by the old homestead, and this time we were able to visit with some former neighbors. I had to laugh at the sight of a bright red Mustang in the driveway of our old home. . .a bit of a change from our all American minivan!
The purpose of this SC trip was to be present for the dedication of the new church building. It is beautiful and has a delicious grand piano which should have had its picture taken! In fact I really should have been taking lots of pictures, and I can't even claim this one as it was shamelessly stolen from Laura Byler's FB page. There's that little thing with "pregnancy, frustration, tiredness. . ." which kept the camera tucked safely in its place. I was too busy catching my breath or my kids and practicing the piano in between rushing around to meet up with friends. It all made up for a fun and exhausting time which is what trips are all about, right?!
Best of all, the boys got to see some of their best friends, and Silas reconnected with his buddy - Scott Hester. :-)
