Finished laundry room

I am finally posting more pictures of our new home. Yes, I painted and decorated the laundry room. Surely, I am not the only one that does that! I chose pink because it is my favorite color, and there is no other room that I could do that shade. So, I went for the "Mom's Laundry" type of room. Since I spend a good deal of time in there, I might as well have a cute place to enjoy! As for the curtain, I was going in the direction of the "Shabby Chic" line of decor. I wanted it to have that scrap material, patched, imperfect look to it. I am not sure if I succeeded in your mind, but I like it. I am debating whether or not to paint the wooden trash can that is brown and quite an eyesore in color. Guess I am not currently in the mood to undertake that project. It would look prettier if it were white, wouldn't it?
Stop back next week.
I will have some living room paint colors up for a vote.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

I love it! You did a wonderful job. I wish my laundry room was that big... I'd be in 7th heaven! Can't wait for the voting to start on the paint colors! I may get some ideas of my own from them.

BTW - I see all your Melaleuca stuff (don't you love it) and am so glad that you are using all natural cleaning products that are safe around children, but is that alcohol I see next to the baskets?? :o)

You are a clever one, Mickey! :-) Yes, I did have alcohol there, but it has been removed. (Thought it made the shelf look cluttered.) I used it for scuff marks on white shoes. I use Melaleuca for everything else.

I love the pink! It's a very pretty shade.

You know I've got to give fellow Melaleuca customers a hard time!

What is the name of the pink paint? I need to work on my girls' room and I really like that color also!

Very beautiful! I painted my sewing room a very soft pink, and I have enjoyed it ever since. It's such a lovely, relaxing color!

Hi Martha, Love your blog. Come decorate my house, when you get all done with your's. The pink is a great color, but I think it show's your need for a baby girl:) My girls room is about that exact shade. For that reason my son will not be sharing that room. His crib is in our room, which is blue. No pink for him. I agree with mickey, I would love to have a laundry room that size! Mine is in the unfinished basement:(

Now, if I had a laundry room - It would definately look a lot like this one! Unfortunately, mine is in the hallway with bifold doors..sniff!

I will not covet, I will not covet, I will not covet.

LOL..it is beautiful!

Mine is exactly as lula describes! There isn't much room for anything else with the washer and dryer in there!

My laundryroom is in a mildewy corner of a nearly century old brick basement. I think it would take more than a little pink paint. sigh...

Mickey,
I am really sorry, but I do not know the color name. I bought it at "Lowe's" in their mis-tinted section. (Or "used paint" section as my cousin accidentally called it:-) Since it was mis-tinted, it does not state the color. The nice thing was it happened to be "KILZ" primer, so I did not have to use twice as many rollers. I only paid $6 for the whole gallon!
Thanks for all the compliments, everyone. It does make for a nice place to fold clothing.

I love it! My laundry room is the basement also. What a nice change to have pink! What is wrong with "used paint"?

I've got to say.....that is the PRETTIEST and DAINTIEST looking laundry rooms I've EVER SEEN!!! Who says a laundry room has to be utilitarian....hmmmm....no you've got ME thinkng...that could be dangerous! hehe

I have a laundry room and had to paint it brown. I'm happy with the outcome too. By the way, you did a great job on your new room. Keep it clean always!
