"It's a. . .
beautiful day in the neighborhood," and beautiful weather for little boys to -
listen to the breezes in the trees and birds chirping, bask in the 60+ weather and sunshine, chat with neighbor friends, gaze at the little green sprouts popping up in the yard and be surrounded by lousy music played by a group of kids who might be aspiring to start their own rock band! Last week I came to the conclusion that the only thing worse than living in the same cul-de-sac with this not so musically talented group was the fact that they are rhythmically challenged as well! So, as they sit armed with a drum set and electric guitars in a garage (which reverberates every sound) and flip through radio stations, they get so messed up in the beat that I think I am going to have a nervous break down! I came very close to going over there and asking them if they had to play such disgusting music, could I please show them how to do it correctly?! I am beginning to think summer will be extremely loooong if we have these "concerts" for hours upon end as we now do on Saturdays. Thankfully I have gotten to know the "host" family (The other musicians appear from other parts of the subdivision.) and feel that maybe we can peacefully work out some "quiet times" if need be. It can get very frustrating when you are in your own house, playing your own music and still cannot drown out the thumping of the drums!
So, as for today, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood," and it's a very quiet day in the neighborhood! I think we'll have lunch outside, too and enjoy a Southern Spring that is on its way.

We are also enjoying 60+ degree weather today. I've already had the kids to the park to play. We also got to enjoy a picnic there. I can't wait for spring! Hope the musically challenged neighbors quiet down for good - for you and the baby's sake! :)
Oh, I must say I am a little envious. It is 30 degrees here with lots of snow in the forecast. Maybe someday... Enjoy it for us!! :-)
I'm with Jana. Maybe by April we'll be enjoying weather like that.
Here's to a quiet subdivision! :)
The kids enjoyed our 60-degree weather down to the last minute! It was almost completely dark when I finally coerced them out of the playhouse! The weather was so unexpected and lovely, we sheared a little time off our homeschooling and enjoyed the park. Hey....we're a little behind in our PE class :)
We're currently having sleet and freezing rain, so I'll think of you as I scrape the ice off the car windshield...
We also enjoyed a warm Monday and Tuesday, but now it's back into the 50's and overcast...oh well, the daffodils are saying the spring is almost upon us! Your neighborhood is quite strange...first it was a rooster, now a rock band, hmmm. Maybe you'd like to have the rooster back? :)
since everybody is giving their weather report. . .i woke up to SUN this morning. . . Clear Sky. . and 13 below. . . i have 2 more months left of winter. . .but God is Good!!! Hope the noise level stays down for you!!
Looks like a nice day, and that a fun time was had by all. However, the music sounds like it would drive me crazy too! =) I hope you can find a solution to the problem. =)
Ladonna, there are some interesting ones for sure! Maybe it is just the South! Ha. Just kidding. :-) (I can feel the angry vibes from my Southern friends now. Hee. Hee.) I am learning lots of lessons in neighborly kindness. And I have not even mentioned the guy that parties and has some interesting scenes in his yard. . . But Seth has been praying for him, and we have been reaching out. We also have some great neighbors that have become close friends!
My kids are snowed in again today. This is snow day #2 that will have to be made up in June! It is supposed to get worse.
Wish we could get some of it here!
