Your Monday, that is. How do you view this day? For starters, it is my "recover from church" day. Yes, yes, that does sound terrible, but if you spent a good deal of one day driving through 216 traffic lights, you might need to recover, too. :-) Silas never gets a decent nap, so he is not at his best. It seems about the time he finally dozes, we hop back in the car to go to and fro.
For the most part, I enjoy Mondays and look forward to the fresh and new week. Since Silas was born, I have stopped homeschooling on this day to give myself extra time to prepare for the rest of the week. It is my day to catch up on all the weekend laundry, deep clean, get ready for Tuesday (library/grocery shopping day), clean the van, do all the little things that get shoved to the side during the previous days, and best of all to sleep later (if possible). I covet this day and typically do not leave the house or schedule anything that would cause me to use a vehicle.
I am a "list" person, and the Monday one is about as long as the Missouri River. It usually doesn't get completely accomplished, but I like the challenge of the length. So why in the world am I blogging when the baby is sleeping and I could be working??? :-) Good question. Guess I will do that right now.
Besides. . .it is the perfect weather to work. The boys have done a good deal of chores so they are outside enjoying the 60's+ weather, the windows are open, birds are chirping, breezes are blowing, and I have a pan of walnut brownies in the kitchen.
Yes, it is a good Monday!

I'm jealous. It is 27 degrees with a wind chill of 12 here today. I'm read for spring in a big, big way! My Monday is going well despite the temps.
Me too. The wind is blowing so hard, and believe me it's cold.
My mondays are the same as yours. But today it was not nice outside, very cold and snowing. And many times my list does not get done either. Have a great week, Martha!:)
Cold with snow here, too! Believe it or not, I have started doing some homeschooling with Faith... I have been doing my own little program. Did that today and tackled some housework. But, that laundry... aaaugh! i know what you mean about having to get caught up after the weekend! Sundays are busy here too, and I don't have nearly the amount of lights or drive you do! I try to sleep in whenever I can... I am usually up to ridiculous hours at night, so I must sleep in when I don't have church or other appointments arranged!
Those brownies sound good!
My Monday is going well even with the weather outside... except that Hope just spit up majorly on my skirt... Yuck! I still miss you all so much, and I sure hope you can come up this way to visit sometime!
I know what you mean about Mondays being recovery day. We don't live near as far from the church as you do, but getting Preston there for just 1 service on Sunday is such exhausting work; especially with the heavy rains we had last night. We used to drive 4 hrs. every Sunday to go to a holiness church and it was hard.
I loved the beautiful day here. Preston went out and sat on the porch in his swing.
Mondays are a little harder for me this year, since I work that morning and Gene has school until really late that night, but I'm learning to just tidy up that day and save the big stuff for Tuesday.
um, it's 8 degrees(wind chill -8) here!!! I'm dying for 60's--I'd even take 30's!!!!!!

Well, we did have a few snags by the end of the day:
1.Ethan climbed very high in a tree and could not get down. I kindly told him there was no way I could get up there, so he had better figure a route or become a gorilla. :-)
2.Somehow Seth's suit coat was in the laundry, and I washed it!
3.Ethan left a trail of that horrid SC red mud across the carpet. :-(
Monday is my big laundry day. But yesterday the kids had no school so we slept in, lazed around and then took them to Ben and Ari's...kinda like Chuck E Cheese but not quite as big and much, much calmer! Surprisingly, there were only a few cars in the parking lot. I figured it would be packed w/President's Day.
Martha, I totally understand the red mud problem. I have a white kitchen floor and beige carpet, what a sore trial it is for me, to try and keep them clean; almost impossible.
Martha, we lived in NC for a few years when I was a teenager and I remember the "red mud". My brother was just a little guy then and we had beige carpet - not a good combination! We are snowed in here today but I plan to get your book in the mail this week.
Mondays are our family days! Since Phillip is a pastor and we are a "pastor's family" we use our Mondays as our "Saturdays". We use them to sleep in, get things done, go somewhere fun with our kids, etc. Normally we don't do school on this day either...but since we are facing the CRUNCH right now before our baby comes, we are doing school on this day too. We enjoy our Mondays and GUARD them like a HAWK. =)
Thanks for your comment on my blog. You saying that you sometimes make the brownie dough up just to eat it cracked me up. =D
Enjoyed catching up on your blog.
I love lists and Mondays, too. We always have school on Mondays, though and for my weather report - it's a whopping 96 degrees in the Rio Grande Valley! I love it!
