Why do I do this?!
My house is a wreck at the beginning of the week. It does not seem to matter how spotless it is on Saturday evening; the in and out of Sunday traffic, plopping bags/purses/coolers on the floor when arriving home, and exhausted falling into bed does not leave a pretty sight for Monday morning. I have laundry "coming out my ears," piles of dishes, all sorts of things to put away, bills to pay, phone calls to make, bathroom to clean, a van to empty, meals to prepare, school to plan, paperwork that must be tended to, suitcases to empty (Troy and I got away for a night.), kids that need lovin' (Grandpa and Grandma just left after a week, and one boy is crying.), a Connect Four game to play with a sad boy. . .and I am sitting on the computer reading blogs! :-)
One day I'll get my act together! For now, I will go enjoy more fudge that my Mom made. Oh yeah. . .I will also put the wet clothes in the dryer.
Happy Monday!

Yeah, I thought it was funny when Jeff asked me what I was doing today??? Like what have I done for the last 18 yrs. on Mondays--haha
My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!! I asked Mark this morning, why do I have 22 loads (or so it seems)of laundry to do today when I just got it all caught up on Friday??!
Another day in the life of a mother...
Happy Monday to you, too, dear Martha! You've got the right idea, though - go ahead and get another piece of fudge :-)
As thankful as I am for a washer and dryer. Laundry is not my chore of choice! It's never ending! I must not mind it too bad because when the first good deal comes along I buy more clothes (mostly for the kids). I must be a glutton for punishment.
Hopefully, after today your house will look better. Even if it is only until the weekend! :)
I completely understand and relate! I try to keep Mondays free from any plans because I know that I will be attacking our mess from the weekend! When are you all going to Florida? is your trip this coming week or next? Or did I get the dates wrong? just curious!
You sound just like me. It totally describes my Mondays, also. When you get your act together, let me know the secret so I can too.
Ugh, I know exactly what you mean. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to add homeschooling right on top of the pile. (of dishes, laundry, toys in the living room!)
You are NOT alone...I feel the same way on Mondays. Cute post...and I'll be over for a piece of that fudge. ;)
I should have said I feel the same way not only on Mondays...EVERYDAY!! I'm in the rainy season and have to do laundry without a dryer...so with a family of 6...it seems I ALWAYS have laundry to wash, hang, WAIT FOR IT TO DRY IN THE DAMP WEATHER, FOLD, IRON OUT THOSE WRINKLES, ETC. So, I feel your pain! =)
Just getting back in the groove after the weekend sometimes is difficult. I know the weekends that Tom has been home from the road doing stuff for him to get him ready to go back out, by Monday I'm ready to rest.
Wow! I am not alone afterall! My house gets the same way over the weekend. I will be so proud of my clean house, the clothes I have matched for the family for Sunday (at least the children's and mine), and all of the work I have done by Saturday night, just to find that it is a wreck by Monday morning! Yep! Guess it's just a mom-thing!
Heather, you just really made me appreciate my dryer!
How true! My thoughts exactly. I've been thinking I'd ask you your secret of how you keep it up so well and get up so early all the time, but maybe I'm not so terrible afterall! :-) There is NO end to it! :-(
