When the cat's away,
the mice will dig through closets to sort scads of clothing to fit growing boys and pack away others that have become too small. Sniff! That is the sad part!
This job is so huge, and I tend to detest it!!!! It makes such a mess through the bedrooms and hall.
Sometimes it even spills into the living room where I decided to combine two big tubs of arts/craft items, and what couldn't fit in one. . .found another home. Or the trash!
And then there is subject of laundry and washing all that is ready to be worn. Ugh! Through this process I have decided to look at it another way - through the eyes of gratefulness! I am very blessed to have sisters that buy lots of items for my boys, a cousin that sends me things her boys have outgrown or do not need, a gal at church that loads me with little boy outfits, and another gal from PA that sends me lots of clothing, too! Oh, yes, Troy's aunt has been gracious to send boxes of nice pants and shirts! So, the once maybe twice a year plowing through boxes is a little price for the money saved!
The other catch is to get this put away before the cat
returns from VA. He wouldn't complain, but I would rather not have him
feel like he is coming home to a garage sale!
Guess I should work and not blog!

Yikes! That reminds me that I need to do the same thing! I have too much to do this week, but maybe in the near future. That is so nice that you have so many people giving clothes to you boys. We have been blessed with simular kindnesses, and it also helps having three of the same gender to keep passing the clothes that still look good to the next child! Have fun! Hope you get it all donee before the "cat" gets homes.

Ugh, I'm in the middle of doing that exact thing right now! I'm also sorting through some things to sell, I only have so many places to store all these totes of clothes! We have been really thankful as well, Lea has given me all of her kids clothes, between her and MIL, I've had to buy very little, mainly just dress clothes. I've also been sorting through Tyler's baby clothes for John and Lea's baby that is due in July, this will be the third little boy to wear them! :)

Sarah, it is nice to be able to pass things down, but I am finding there is a bit of size differences which causes problems. :-( Seth is thin, and Ethan is thick. :-)

Lori, I was wondering what Lea was having! Wow! That is a lot of good use when it comes to boys' clothing.

I'm doing the same thing toady! With the temp. in the 70's , I decided it was time to dig out all the t-shirts! I hate the job...all the washing and sorting, but I do like dressing the kids in the new things I had stashed away for them (that I found on clearance last summer! LOL!)However, I am blessed with an ample basement so "the cat" has no idea of the mess that I make down there! :)

It must be that time for everyone. SPRING CLEANING!! I finished Logan's closet the other day - sad to say I need to do mine, but don't even want to start finding all the clothes that don't fit anymore :( :( :(
Oh well!!
Hope you stop by my blog sometime and let me know we're still friends. LOL!!

You are so fortunate to have "hand-me-downs" --- count it as one of life's greatest blessings!!! My children are the oldest of both sides of family, the oldest of all my friends....$$$$$!!!
