Southern shocker!
Okay! Okay! It's not much, but it still surprised me when I peeked out my bedroom window this morning. Some of you may take your fluffy precipitation for granted, but this former South Dakota girl actually prayed for snow last winter. We were all thrilled when several wet inches fell, and it was possible to throw snowballs and make a snowman.
Today was nothing more than a dusting, but it was enough for Ethan to finally believe it was winter. There was also a chilly wind whipping about and reminded me of all of my sledding experiences. Ahhhhh. . .such great memories!
The boys were so excited to "play in the snow." Poor things couldn't even make a snowball! By their obviously unmatched snow clothes, they are not used to being outside during the cold weather.
I topped off their fun with cups of hot chocolate and marshmallows. The treat was thoroughly enjoyed by Seth. Ethan, not very impressed, commented, "It tastes kind of funny." Hmmmm. Gets that from his mother. :-)

Remember the snow I have kept in my freezer since last February? It is still there!

My kids missed their first day back to school due to this fluffy white stuff.
I loved your recap of 2007. Very cute.
I'm so happy for your kids that they got some snow to play with, I remember when we lived in NC, snow was so rare that we were just as excited to see some!
hey! Found your blog! This is Katrin Crater by the way! katrincrater.blogspot.com
How awesome for you all!!
We've got snow here you may have! Ha! My children can't really go out to enjoy it much, for the fear of them getting sick. Would love to let them, because they have new snowboots, etc. Ron's blood counts are so low, I am not sure if I should chance it.
We didn't get a bit of snow here in Dacusville! I couldn't believe you all had snow in Greer and we had none. :(
That is so funny - I just evicted Frosty who has been taking up space in my freezer since Thanksgiving! I love the snow too and wish we had about 12". I hate the cold wet gray slushy weather between snow and Spring. I'll be coming to see you in Feb. when I've had my fill. Take care.
Well, now the snow melted here! We are having strange weather... feels ALMOST like Spring today!
You said "former South Dakota girl", where in SD are you from? We live in Rapid City. My husband Brent pastors the Bible Christian Church.
Nicki Woodard
Ahh, yes, Rapid City - I have been there countless times! I lived in three different places in the state:
1. Pierre
2. Martin
3. Mitchell
Have you always lived in Rapid?
