Strange combos
As pregnant women, we certainly get "labeled" every time we consume something that another person dubs "strange." We don't even need to mention the laughs we bring if we pick up a dill pickle!!! How did the dill pickle/pregnancy connection start anyway?! My body has been pregnant four times, but as long as I can recall, I have always loved a slice of dill, but as usual, it only draws attention when I have a growing abdomen.
Just for entertainment, I decided to list some of my favorite combos which, according to some, are terribly strange!
~ I absolutely looooooove dipping carrot sticks, pretzels or Club crackers in icing! Mmmm - mmmm, can't get enough of those!
~ Give me a dill pickle with any sandwich - even a peanut butter one. As a teen, I enjoyed drinking lemonade while downing a pb sandwich with dill slices on the side.
~ I love to eat almonds with just about anything.
~ My favorite breakfast is fresh pineapple and a huge glass of water.
~ 99 % of the time, I want water with my meals; it makes the flavor of your food more distinct. I even want water with pizza! :-) I have been "informed" that is very strange.
~ Apples and popcorn
~ Salad without dressing
~ Potatoes without gravy
~ Oreos and fresh veggies (with water to drink, of course)
Your turn;
indulge me with a few of yours.

I don't like eggs without ketchup. Yum Yum.
Love homemade icing with bananas! Actually, I could eat homemade buttercream icing (especially chocolate) just plain, but it grosses my husband out! And, ranch dressing dresses up alot of stuff... mmm! I also love water with meals... especially at a restuarant... the food is too rich to add sugary soda to it! I am a milk-a-holic, too! My husband is amazed at how much milk I can guzzle! I drink pop sometimes, but my body doesn't seem to appreciate it and I have gotten pretty used to not drinking it much.
Say, thanks for the comment on my blog, I wrote you a note back ;-)
I used to like PB with sweet pickles, but it's been a few years. These days, I go for things like tuna and tomatoes, and I have this lunch combo that is peas, shredded cheddar, sunflower seeds and a little honey mustard dressing. Don't know why I like that... And NO, I'm not pregnant!
My weirdest is probably BLT sandwich with mayo and peanutbutter. It is really good. And I'm not pregnant either.(I used to hate grapefruit but developed a taste for it in my first pregnancy--had to have salt on it.

I love peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, which proves that you don't have to be pregnant to like it. Actually, my dad made me try it when I was younger.
By the way, I love your blog, Martha. It is fun to see how you all are doing.
Hey, Martha! I wanted to let you know that Curtis and I have been and will be praying for you extra hard these next few days!! Hope everything goes well!! BTW--I can't think of any wierd combinations of food that I like! :-)
I like peanut butter on my fresh banana. And it love to dip my french fries in ice cream at McDonalds or my Frosty at Wendy's. I also love pink grapefruits, but hand me the salt shaker, NOT sugar like my husband puts on it!! I mix my cottage cheese with pineapple or peaches for breakfast often, and I have been "informed" that that is a ridiculous combination...I ALSO am NOT pregnant!
Ladonna, we always did peaches with cottage cheese for a salad at home. When I married Tony he introduced me to pineapple/cottage cheese.
Martha, are these pregnancy combos or all the time for you? I like chocolate and potato chips. I'm sure there are others but can't think of any off hand. (Interestingly enough, I have a draft saved to post on a day when I don't have time or content for anything else of my pregnancy cravings :) When I was pg my mother yipped at me for eating a dill pickle and then turning from the fridge and reaching for chocolate fudge. I didn't even realize what I had done. So I think it must be a sweet/sour thing not just pickles and ice cream. I usually prefer water with most meals but HAVE to have pop with pizza and tacos. (sorry for the novel :/
When I was pregnant with Brennan, it was at least 2 bowls of Cocoa Puffs a day. It's no wonder I gained so much weight. I now hate Cocoa Puffs.
When I was pregnant with Jared, I wanted asparagus (and never having eaten it before, made for a very strange craving). I could fry up and eat a pound at a time.
