Catching Your Ultrasound Eye ~ Part 1
Yes, I finally went to the doctor last week. You should have seen them trying to catch up about four visits in one! They did a "quick" ultrasound just to check the status of the baby. (The "official" one is next week.) I can typically understand a few things during this procedure, and I saw a beautiful profile when the baby turned. Did the nurse print that picture? Oh, no, she sent this one home. My boys were a little confused at the only existing picture of their newest sibling.

I'm usually pretty good with ultrasounds, and I'm confused! I like the comic and can't wait to see a new pic of my baby cousin that I can more clearly detect.
Aw, sweet! I can kind of make out your little one! What is your 'official' due date?
My mom never could figure those pictures out. She hated them. When I had one at 11 weeks with my second dd, I was showing my mother who was trying to figure it out and my 8 yr old nephew was there and asked, "Is that a picture of your baby?" I told him yes and asked him if he could see it. He pointed it right out. We were shocked.
So are you going to tell what the new little one might be? :) I didn't want to know with Darrell, the second child, but I had to have a ultrasound because they thought he was twins! Paul saw the perfect picture; told me HE knew; and there was NO way I was going to go 6 more months with him knowing and me not sure. So when the tech came back in, I told him I wanted to know. Paul was right...it was a boy ;)
check my blog....I'm going to post a photo I got through email...perhaps your kids could see the 'baby' there.
oops...it's on another computer. I'll try to get it, but it might be a few days. Sorry about that.
Ahhh, clear as mud. Obviously, the baby is a zebra. It's so good to have this reassuring technology to help us through childbirth, isn't it?
With Lauren, I had trouble making out the images. By Caleb, it seemed a cinch....of course they used 3-D images too...that helps. But as for this....I feel like an amateur all over again. Angie, I think you're way off....looks like a lemur to me. :)
Let's see. . .in answer to your questions:
1. The "official" due date is around Nov 30. I think we will pin that with the next ultrasound.
2. No, I don't think I will find out what it is. I like surprises.
Here's another hint - the ultrasound photo was around one of the legs. (I think.) I believe this is when she was measuring it.
Hey! Glad to hear all is well, although that baby just might be born before you find out its due date! I can't believe how time flies. Our little ones should appear in the same month, anyway. And...I'm with you on surprises! People look at me rather wierdly when I say we'll know what it is when it gets here, but it seems so anti-climactic to have it any other way! Hope you guys are all doing well...
The leg is about the only obvious body part is the picture... the long white line is the leg bone, know that from my ultrasounds... I love try to explain mine to people... some of my girls' ultrasounds look like aliens. I have my "big" ultrasound with this baby on August 13... so excited! Well, gotta go... we are leaving for youth camp this afternoon and I have much to do.
Thanks for sharing! So if it's a girl will you have many things to do...like nursery room decor? Or do you have a neutral theme/idea in that creative head of yours? :)
Yes,...tooo cute! I know the confusion those ultrasounds can be to we adults...let alone...our kids! =)
We're excited to see this baby when the time arrives.
Love, Heather =)
Martha, I'm with you on the surprise. I didn't want to know either. We also didn't tell the name that way if anyone didn't like it they didn't feel free to say so. People are more likely to say things before the baby is born than after.
