2 weeks old today!
The little guy is two weeks old today. He is already filling out and has gained over an ounce a day since coming home from the H. Silas has been trying to hold up his head and has been carefully inspecting his surroundings. I love his inquisitive eyes. Oh, yes - no surprise - he responds to piano music. Can't imagine why. Ha. We are so thrilled to have him with us, and I am very thankful for all that God has done in Silas' short life. I do not even mind all the nighttime feedings. :-) I am extremely happy to be able to take care of him myself! Yes, I am still tired, but it is a very good tired.
Here is another picture that warms my heart -
Silas' first night in his own bed.
I am learning to take nothing for granted!
As much as Silas is thriving, I have had an extremely hard time recovering from this C-section. In fact, I still couldn't walk for more than fifty feet when I was discharged from the H. I have experienced a great deal of pain, and I am so thankful my mom and sister are here to help! This has been quite annoying since after my surgery with Seth, I was up and walking in two days and scrubbing my floors in a week! We still cannot figure out what has happened, but I did receive some internal bruising which may have something to do with it. I will be glad when I am totally mended.
Thanks for all the emails, cards and phone calls I am still receiving. With all the pain, slowness of moving, pain meds that make you loopy, feeding a baby every 2-3 hours and some long nights, I have not been very faithful in the blog or responding! I have been browsing your blogs, though. It just seems like it is too much effort to comment. :-)
Have a great weekend.
I will try to post some new pictures soon.

I know all too well of how the hardest things in life make you the most appreciative. I'm so thankful that Silas is doing so well, and his picture is adorable. Praying for you to feel better soon. Take it easy!
I love thinking about how full your heart must feel. He looks precious.
So happy that baby is doing great! I will never understand how c-sections by the same dr., in the same hospital, etc. can turn out so different! I was dreading this one with everything in me, and it went so smoothly! I am feeling fantastic, and might even talk Greg into a restaurant stop on the way home from the hospital. That would NEVER have happened with the last two! I'll be praying for your body to recover. It is a lot more difficult with other children to manage. Don't overdo!
He is so CUTE Martha!!!! :) Will be praying for you.
What a sweet baby! I love that picture of him in the crib. He looks so peaceful and content. I hope you start feeling better soon. Glad you have family there to help out.
I really enjoyed visiting with you over the phone today. Thanks for the good laugh! :-) Been needing that! Sure hope your recovery speeds up! Glad that Silas is doing well. He is adorable! Keep in touch! I appreciate your friendship! God bless!
Martha, he's such a sweet and cute baby! I'm sooo sorry that you are having a hard time recovering....PLEASE take it easy and don't feel guilty for not scrubbing your floors yet. =) I've never had a C-section, but my sister had 4 of them and it would take her nearly a month to get back into the swing of things. We're proud of you for all you have been through. Don't worry about blog hopping and not commenting, we all understand. Give your baby a hug from all of us, and try to take an extra hour nap today, just for you, you deserve it. =)
Love, Heather and baby =)
He is adorable, Martha! So glad he is doing well and I hope you are on the mend very soon!
Thanks for stopping by. I've been praying for you and your little one. He is precious. My friend at http://www.33degreesbelowzero.blogspot.com/ just had a son in Uruguay and named hin Silas! If it is any comfort to you, I had natural childbirth and I remember well that #3 recovery was very difficult. I think each one takes a toll on us and it takes longer to bounce back. Rejoice in the help you have and don't push yourself. Other things can wait. My oldest is where you are now and I well remember his birth, like it was yesterday. I can't go back. Enjoy each moment resting with the little one and the older two too! You will never regret it.
