2006 Christmas Tree
I love the colors next to the brown wall.

"Antennas" as Troy calls them.

Here are the snapshots, but I feel they do not do it justice! I think the garland is what makes the tree come alive. I bought a yard and a half of the material for $1.50 and snipped strips to make it.
As you can see, I go for a more unorthodox tree topper. Troy likes to tease me concerning them. Occasionally as he strolls by the tree he says, "Christmas tree calling home." :-)
"Anonymous" guessed correctly; the stars were made with scrapbooking paper. I found the template for them from a link on another blog. It really helped me create a whole new tree for $6!
I hope all of your decorating is coming along smoothly!

What kind of Christmas tree is this? Where are the colored lights? Where is the shiny silver garland and where, oh where, are the LOVELY silver tinsel "icicles" that you buy at Walgreens for $.33 a package? ($.25 a pkg. with coupon) I guess I can forgive you for this as long as you have that wreath (made out of shaggy yarn in country red and green) that your dear old aunt Ethal Mae made you, hanging on your front door. Is it there? And who am I? I'll give you a hint....nahhhhhhhhh Maybe next time :)
How creative!! It looks like a designer tree made to match your interior decor. Congrats and Merry Christmas.
It's beautiful, Martha. Wish you'd been here the week of Thanksgiving when I decided I couldn't face putting the ribbon on mine this year. My tree looks pitiful without it. :(
Love your tree! What are those gold "curly things" called?
Your thriftiness never ceases to amaze me! Troy cracks me up!
It is definately a Martha tree. I mean that in a good way!:) I'm glad you gave the boys one to decorate themselves. When I was a kid my mom was into the classy tree look and that's why I only have colored lights and kid ornaments. Now you have the best of both worlds, the fancy, pretty tree and the kid tree.
