February gone?!
Where was I when it flew by? Oh, I remember. . .I was just getting over nausea and was busily eating. (Translated : I was gaining 15 pounds in the month of February. :-) We also didn't do much as we were slammed with feet of snow - beautiful snow. (More beautiful to me since I wasn't the one shoveling!) As the snow fell and fell, I decided
or laced with the hues of fall,
I'd rather have the white drape of snow than the ugly brown of winter!
Poor Troy and Seth had quite the time digging us out of the mess. Personally I love to shovel, but the activity and pregnancy do not seem to go hand in hand. So I busied myself with making cup after cup of hot cocoa.
There is a minivan under this pile!
With the snow came loads of fun with "boogie boards" - the only form of sled that could be found in this town,
icicles to munch,
I love this shot of Erin helping Silas walk through the "muck" to feed the Shetland.
Kids are so trusting. . .

Please share you recipe for funnel cakes. I LOVE them. And that cake looks like it should be pictured in the Southern Living at Home magazine.
Hey Martha! I was just catching up on your blog! I was curious....are you finding out the gender of your baby, or have you already? Curiousity killed the cat, but I'm curious anyway! ;)
Hope you are doing okay...
Love,
Jamie
I love it when my DILs do a blogpost! Always lots of wonderful pictures and interesting information. Looks like Troy made up for all the "snowless" growing up years in Phoenix with just one winter in VA! Love you all bunches! Mom & Grandma C
Your cake looks gorgeous and delish!! Is it chocolate?
That's a lot of snow on your van, and ooooohhhh, does that strawberry cake look good!!!
Glad you can eat again. Now if I can lose the pounds as fast as I gained them in the last 9 months, I'll be happy! :)
Dorcas, the recipe was so easy and much cheaper than spending $4 per cake at a fair. :-) I found it on allrecipes.com called "Funnel Cakes I." It was submitted by "Sassy Squirrel." I thought it might be easier for you to look it up on there and print if you choose. Thanks for the cake compliment; I have always loved making pretty desserts. This pregnancy and choc are not friendly, so I did not have any. Hard to imagine! Yes, Connie, the cake was choc along with a drizzle.
Jamie, believe it or not, I do not ask about the gender. Childbirth still terrifies me, and I need the excitement to help me face it. I love the surprise, too - kind of like having to wait to find out what your gift is. This time it seems a bit harder not to, but I am trying to be good!
I saw the pics of your nursery, and it is adorable! Since we are renting, I do not have the freedom to paint the walls, and that is a real bummer to me. Kind of takes the joy out of decorating in my book. . . I am still trying to fall in love with white walls!
Too true about the weight, Janette. I was just trying to tell Ethan that it takes nine months to get big, and I will not be flat stomached in two days after the baby is born. :-) That seems to be taking a bit more work with each child!

That is completely fine! I have a sister-in-law that can't stand to find out for the same reason...she says if she has to be pregnant for 9 months, at least she should get a "surprise" at the end!! :) I can't stand NOT knowing! I'm just the opposite...I think I would go crazy for 9 Months if I didn't know! And, I know ladies never used to have this privilege, but I'm glad we have it now!
Hope you are feeling okay. Such a bummer about renting...been there done that, and hated it! White walls are VERY hard to get used to!
Talk to you later!
Jamie

Martha, did your husband the pack'n'play? I was hoping it would not get stolen there.
What a week this was... I love IHC, but it wears me out. Glad to have a "home" day today.
I hope you got to watch some of it on-line, as there were some really nice services.
Love you guys!
