Question of the day -
I'm a little curious. . .
What do you like to see in a blog? What is it that makes you return to one a second, third. . . time? What doesn't appeal to you?
Here are things that attract me:
1. Humor! Humor! Humor!
2. Similarities in lifestyle - I love to read after other Christian, homeschooling and especially younger moms.
3. Someone who gives good decor ideas.
4. Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! Did I mention pictures?!
5. A positive or encouraging person who passes nuggets to others.
6. Love to check on friends/acquaintances.
7. Gals who show lots of pictures of their home. (I am sure that comes as a surprise!)
8. People who give good tips on healthy living, household management, organization. . .
9. Challenging and thought provoking writers.
10. People who post pictures of their hobbies - decorating, crafts, photography, cakes. . .
Your turn; what grabs you?

Pictures, pictures, pictures...and did I mention a FAMILY pic of the blogger? I can't stand when I have to search the whole blog to find out who's blog I'm reading. Either they have a "nickname" posted, and no real name, or just have pics of their kids, so I have NO CLUE if I went to school with the blogger or their mate, or ever knew them or not. =) I also like encouraging Scriptures, and hearing about other homeschooling Moms.
Love, Heather
OK, one more thing...I love it when my friends include GOOD things to say about their mates. For we have an enemy who HATES Christian families...and who does not want wives to be in LOVE with their husbands, and visa versa. I love to see a married couple celebrating SEVERAL HAPPY years together. Phillip and I will celebrate 12 WONDERFUL YEARS in June, and I want to make it to 100. =) After all...PHILLIP CHOSE ME OVER EVERY OTHER LADY IN THIS WORLD! = ) HOW SPECIAL!
Love, Heather
Why do you read my blog, or will you stop? Do I still classify as a "young mom", or are my days numbered (10 more)? I have no pics, I don't homeschool, I have no decorating ideas, and at this time I'm not encouraging. Some of this will hopefully change very soon. (Not the homeschooling part-I'm already insane!)
I read your blog because you do crack me up, and I LOVE to see new pics of my family. I also like when you do your different decor pics. I also like to know I'm not alone in my crazy world of kids. I feel isolated at times with no real neighbors and no outside job. I just love to connect.
Martha,
Hi! I can't believe how long it's been since we were both at FBS! I came across your blog while blog-hopping the other day, very entertaining and love the pics! Your boys are so cute! Love your sense of humor! Great blog!

I love this post because I absolutely love Curious George! He is my absolute favorite!!
I love pictures in blogs (imagine that!), but I pretty much like just reading about what people are doing too! Great recipes are always interesting too.
Humorous tales from other quirky families always get my attention. (It means it's not just me!) I have also enjoyed seeing pictures of fellow bloggers; there are a lot of people whose names didn't sound familiar, but I recognize their faces. I'm a big chicken about posting house pictures, but I LOVE seeing everyone else's. Mostly, blogging has been a great way to connect with other Christians across the country.
Martha,
It is great to connect with others who have the same core beliefs. I will have to say that, as holiness a women, it is easy to feel isolated. It is so great to have this way of "fellowshipping". With that in mind, I will agree that humor, pictures, and just about anything that is uplifting, and encouraging will win my vote. Some of you have a gift for writing that just pulls us all in. What I wouldn't give to have that kind of talent.
Pictures, humorous tales, and like others have mentioned some just have a knack for writing and making a story more interesting! Also connecting with friends and seeing what they are up to.
I'll have to admit, nothing catches my eye (and my attention) like writing style. (the English major coming out in me).
Of course, I love to connect with old friends (see how their families have grown) and I've loved "meeting" new friends.
And I do love to see a lot of pictures!
Ha. You're funny, Les. Did you miss the part about keeping in contact with my family?! :-) I think you more than qualify there!
