Hats off to 2007
I hope 2007 has had a pleasant start in your home. I enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season! To date, it was one of the most relaxing for me.
Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of entertaining Andrew Stroud and Sherilyn and Elisa Stetler. We had a great time and filled this house with laughter. On Sunday, we enjoyed the company of David and Teresa Armstrong and Sherri, Wesley and Justin Melton. (More good laughs!) I had two problems ~ 1. Ate too much food. 2. Stayed awake too long. (Yawn.) I also did not give 2007 a healthy start. The morning of the 1st, I ate about 25 of those little choc/pb/pretzels balls. (I should be ashamed of myself!)
I love the "clean sheet" of a new year! It is so fun to make positive changes, and here are a few of my resolutions:
1. Reread some of my Liz George books.
2. Read the entire Bible again.
3. Start Seth on a devotional program so it will become a "habit."
4. Be more consistent with my exercising and go on more walks with the boys.
5. Every three weeks, I plan to mail an encouraging note/letter to someone.
6. Begin piano instruction with Ethan. (Gulp!)
7. Possibly start learning a foreign language with Seth.
8. Start teaching money management to Seth. He will learn to tithe, start a savings account, and give to missions and needy people.
9. Answer every personal email within a week. (Ouch!) I love getting them, but I am terrible at responding. (I can visualize some of you nodding your heads! :-)
10. Get my kids' scrapbooks up-to-date. (I think the total is seven!)
I wish you perseverance and success with all of your resolutions!

Great List. Just finished mine!
That's a good list. Hope you have a great year.
Was Elisa good? ;-)
I would like to lose the 63lbs. that I gained back AGAIN!!!!!
Seth will probably be fluent in 8 different languages by the time he's 10! That kid is so smart, he must take after your favorite cousin. (I am referring to me and not another one that you may possibly name.) I would love to see Ethan playing the piano. Maybe that would be his outlet.
Also, if you are looking for someone to send that encouragement to, you know my address!
You made resolutions? How quaint and ordinary!
"Anon 2," I suppose that getting dressed in the morning is also "quaint and ordinary."
Getting dressed in the morning is necessary--making resolutions is not.
Getting dressed in the morning is necessary? Since when?! :-)
Yes, resolutions are necessary for people who want to continually grow and improve themselves. People that do not make "quaint" resolutions tend to live in ruts. After all, it is the "ordinary" people that become great and leave their mark on the world.
That totally came from left field--You missed the point.
Anon 2, sorry I missed your point. Maybe it is because you do not have one. :-) Hee. Hee. J/K I am trying to determine if you are attempting to be funny or get under my skin. How about going to the profile page and emailing me from there. I am curious about your true identity...
Some really sharp bantering going on here.....
i resolved to quit reading blogs....... so much for resolutions
Both--funny and under skin. OK-here is the point-you take great pride in being "different." And yet everybody makes resolutions on New Years. That is it--no conspiracy--just a simple point.
Anon 2, point well taken! :-) Yes, I like to be "different" to a certain degree. I am not going to eat using my feet. I do not plan on sleeping under my bed. I do not sit around and munch on paper. . . I like to be different in a "good" sort of way, not a strange one. Make sense? I am still waiting for your email. :-)
That's an impressive list.
I myself am already in the rut of making New Year's resolutions and promptly breaking them...sigh.
Hey, as far as that foreign language goes, I could tell you what NOT to say!
i do happen to sleep under my bed...and i eat paper once in awhile!! is this really such a strange thing????
