Birthday treasures

Had to celebrate with an iced cookie - of course!
My favorite gift:
Vera Bradley Java Blue ~ I love the vibrant combination!

Troy shocked me with these! What a nice surprise!

My favorite color.

What a special birthday it was! For a "celebration," I asked Troy to take the night off work, and all four of us be together. (He usually does not get home until 9 or 10.) My greatest gift in life is a loving family, and I especially wanted to be with them. Troy picked up a favorite - pizza & breadsticks, topped off with a colossal cookie. (Healthy way to begin a new decade! :-) It was fun to finally open all the cards and gifts that had been tempting me. We ended the evening by playing some games.
Thanks to all three of my men for a wonderful evening!

I LOVE the Vera Bradley tote. That is a new "brand" for me but I think I may be jumping on the band wagon--gotta get one!

I hate to admit, but I may be gaining an appreciation for "the old lady bag". Don't tell anyone, I don't think I'm ready to admit it outloud yet.

Well, now you are spoiled...no more cheap handbags ever again! Now that you have one, you'll never want anything else. I love all the pockets inside. Feels good to have a bag so organized. The java definitely looks like you. Did the pink one you just bought get doomed to the back of the closet????? :)

Happy birthday once more. The bag is beautiful. A few years ago, I secretly laughed at those things, but they're growing on me! I saw a couple the other day that I really liked. Must be an old lady thing...

Glad to see you had a good birthday! I am privileged to have a friend who has bought 2 Vera Bradley bags for me and I absolutely love them. I would LOVE to have one of her diaper bags but right now that is wishful thinking!!

LOVE the bag! I really like the style. For those who like the bags but don't want to pay the price, ebay usually has quite a few. My friend has gotten a diaper bag off of there. Anyway, Martha, I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday.

Glad you had a happy birthday, Martha! 30 isn't really all that bad, is it?
I'm warming up to Vera Bradley. Some of the women in our church are crazy about them, but I'm still into solids, so Liz Claiborne is my favorite right now. The fact that TJ Maxx has them for about 1/3 of the regular price really helps!
Anyway, the bag is really cute. I'll probably start really liking them about the time they go out...that's usually the way it goes for me.
Hope you have a great day!

Les, be careful what you say! :-) You will have one of these "old lady bags" before you know it. I am learning to never say that I do not like something. My answer is, "For now; check back in five years. I am sure my opinion will have changed."
Stephanie, I am with you on the solid colors. This is one of my first purses that has a pattern. Now, I will be attempting to wear clothing that has no patterns! :-)

Oops, forgot to mention. . .Nancy, the other "Vera Bradley" imitation is for summer. :-) It is actually in the closet right now.
